Overview of the different screens

In NT6 there are a number of different screens, or buttons, that you can use to navigate around the timetable file. When you are maintaining the timetable you don't always need every screen. However, in this section we will discuss what each of the main screens does so that at least you have a basic understanding of what they might be used for!

Cycle- this is used to set the pattern of the school day and week.

Model- this is where the curriculum is designed for each year group. We will explore this a little further in the next section.

Classes- You would use this screen to assign teachers to classes, as well as other resources such as rooms and facilities (rooms would only be added here if the class absolutely must have that resource. For example food classes). Again we will look at this screen further as you move through the course.

Block- This allows the timetabler to go into detail about who is teaching the class, and when it might be scheduled (timetabled)

Bands- Here is where you can see which classes are being taught during which period. It is a visual overview of all the year groups in the school.

Don't get too worried about each of these screens as the next section will highlight the main ones you will need to maintain the timetable.
